Celebration of the Trees
It’s time to let the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) know that we strongly oppose their destruction of 288 legacy trees to build a twelve lane highway. You are cordially invited to Celebration of the Trees!
Date: July 10th, 2021
Time: 9:00am
Location: Right of Way in front of Hampton Inn (see detailed parking and gathering directions below)
How you can help: talk to neighbors and friends; post this information on your social media; sign the petition; make a donation - all donations will be matched, dollar for dollar!
Volunteer to: bring water bottles in ice chests; to make signs; bring card tables; to bring your musical instrument (or your whole band) and play for us
To volunteer, email karon.rilling@gmail.com
Donations will be matched up to a total of $2,500 through July 30th!
Park: at the old SW Park and Ride
Driving directions: From William Cannon at the cemetery, turn right toward Ben White. Go past the former Park and Ride and take a right.

There’s still an entrance onto the Park and Ride pavement. Park here!

Gather: On foot, take the trail inside the railing east towards the Hampton Inn.

Between the two driveways for Hampton Inn is a mowed area with multiple trees. As part of the Right of Way, we can meet there unless TXDOT asks us to leave. On a Saturday morning, we’re doubting that happens.
